Here's to June

It's been a beautiful and busy month, doing taxes and tattoos. Thank you, everyone, for continuing to get tattooed, buy my art, engage online, and, of course, read my newsletter!

This month, paid-tier subscribers can read "Gender Neutral Parenting," a short reflection on our journey, two years on. I paywall this stuff because it's personal, and a thin barrier between my writing and the General Internet feels safer.

If you'd like to read more of my work or support what I do in this way, please sign up here. My regular monthly newsletter will always be free.

New Designs

Some kinda traddy Jewish designs! hand-drawn with pens, pencils, and watercolours. These are repeatable, though, if you want something unique, I can draw up a similar custom. From £140 at about 7 cm.

Prints!

Thank you to everyone who has bought prints so far! It's been great to get feedback. The little Golem prints have been particularly popular- I am planning to do more mini prints of a different design later in the year.

I have some copies at the studio, so if you'd like to buy one during an appointment, just let me know then. The 'mini Tattooed Golem' print is A5. 'And I Will Never be Able to Touch You' is A4. Both digital prints on Perlino Cotton Paper.

I do ship worldwide, but I am based in the UK, and if you are not, please select "International Standard Shipping" at checkout rather than "Standard Shipping"

Buy them here- https://sian-shine.bigcartel.com

More of This!

This is where I feature recent work I’d like to do more of. It doesn’t mean repeating designs, but working in a similar style or on a similar subject.

A dreamy project for me! Myrtle with lyrics from Mayn Rue Platz, a Yiddish song about living and dying in the factory. I love an illustrative communist botanical. Thank you Shosh!

Mutual Aid Request

Each month, I highlight a cause or organisation doing good things that could use more money. I will always donate to whoever I feature.

This month is my friend Kairon's film! He's a wonderful guy and is always working on something cool. This time, he's directing a short indie film about two queer women whose lives collide. Support the arts! Click here to donate.

What I've Been...

Reading- I finished Dracula. I had absorbed so many parts of it through cultural references that I thought I knew the story, but it's well-written and there is so much plot that didn't make it to a Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons, so I was still surprised. I deeply disliked most of the characters.

I think the novel is indeed a misogynistic fantasy of matricide, but you win some, you lose some?

Watching- Long Story Short, a grown-up cartoon on Netflix. It's very Jewish and pretty good.

Listening to- I have trained myself like a dog to do boring work to Lofi Girl on YouTube by only doing boring work while listening to Lofi Girl on YouTube. As soon as I hear the twinkle and the beat, my brain is like, ok, do your taxes. Honestly, a life hack.

That's all for now

I hope you're able to enjoy the sun.

I leave you with a picture of my fave babe with a dandelion.
