Here's to October!
I have the back-to-school feeling. Back to working more, back to nursery for E, back to life. A renewed focus alongside sadness about what's left behind.
This month, paid-tier subscribers can read Two Poems. I paywall this stuff because it's personal, and I prefer a thin barrier between my writing and the General Internet. If you'd like to read more of my work or support what I do in this way, please sign up here.
My regular monthly newsletter will always be free.
New Designs
I've learnt to go with my heart and make the flash I want to, whether it ends up being popular or not, as I mostly do custom work anyway. This month my heart wanted shrek, and shrek it delivered. It's also nice to reflect that I have kept up with drawing and painting every month this year, despite how busy I am!

More of This!
This is where I feature recent work I’d like to do more of. It doesn’t mean repeating designs, but working in a similar style or on a similar subject.

Mutual Aid Request
Each month, I highlight a cause or organisation that could use more money. I will also donate to whoever I feature.
This month, it would be amazing if people could donate to Asher's top surgery recovery fund! Click here to send money to their partner, Liv; just put 'Asher' as the reference. I promise it will go to the right person!
There's also a fundraiser party on October 3rd at Matchstick Piehouse. Click the poster below for tickets. You'd see me there if I did anything other than work and childcare.

What I've Been...
Reading- I finished Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, and it was fabulous. If I'm seeing you soon and you want to borrow it, let me know! I also started The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida, and so far it's wonderful. Both were gifts from the lovely Whitney, and it's so nice to be reading actually good stuff.
Watching- Still watching The L Word, and we are now on season 5. Everyone is terrible; it is still excellent tv.
Listening to- I'm listening to the audiobook of Wicked by Gregory Maguire, and I really like it! So much more substance and grit than the film/musical. Complex characters, with a lot of darkness and wit.
As for music, I've been enjoying LA Dispute.
That's all for now
I hope you're able to swerve cold & flu season as best as possible. I hope you can find joy in the darkening evenings.
I leave you with a picture of me and one of my best mates eating corn by a river many moons ago.
Sian xoxo
