Policies, Terms, and Conditions
You will need to bring valid photo ID with you to your appointment
It needs to have your date of birth and picture on it, ideally a passport or drivers licence. Our consent form is digital, though we have paper back ups if for some reason the digital one doesn't work.
Bookings are non-refundable within 7 days of your booking.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment within 7 days you will need to pay another deposit to rebook. If you have booked a tattoo within less than 7 days to your booking you forfeit your cooling off period. Please email me if you need to cancel. My admin & pre-tattoo prep is included in the deposit cost, if my appointments are cancelled or rescheduled I am operating at a loss for that day. If I am unable to make your appointment, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund.
You can pay using either cash or card
We have a pretty reliable card machine, though I also take cash. Tips are very much not expected, but if you do want to tip in money, cash is preferable.
If you can, please come alone to your appointment
Let me know in advance if you need to bring someone with you for additional support. It's not an issue, but it helps me plan.
I tattoo at FORT London, an appointment only studio in Stoke Newington. Our full accessibility document can be found in the link below.
https://moat.fort.london/static/access
FORT is a queer space
Lots of us are trans and/or gender non-conforming. Anyone is welcome in the space, queer or straight, cis or trans, but please don't make anyone uncomfortable by staring or assuming anyone's gender or pronouns.
FORT is a nut-free space
One of our artists has a severe nut allergy- please bare this in mind when bringing snacks!
Covid Policy
I do a lateral flow test in the morning before I tattoo, and if possible I would love you to do a lateral flow test before leaving for our appointment. If your covid test is positive, just let me know straightaway via email, and your deposit can carry over to another date. If mine is positive, we can reschedule or I will refund you if you want. I do not automatically wear a mask for all appointments, but will happily wear a mask on request- there is a box to check for this on my enquiry form.
Please arrive on time (not too early) to reduce the traffic in our waiting area.
I keep a tight schedule and if you are more than fifteen minutes late for your appointment I may not be able to tattoo you.
If you want to use numbing cream let me know before hand.
I am happy for you to use numbing cream, but I require you to do a patch test with the exact cream you want to use, 7-14 days before our appointment. Lockdown and Emla are brands of numbing cream I've used with success before. Please check that a brand is safe and follow instructions properly- you can overdose on Lidocaine which is an active ingredient in numbing cream. It's also quite common to get redness and itchyness with numbing cream, and if we have to cancel the appointment last minute because of this you will forfeit your deposit. Bear in mind that numbing cream can also make skin harder to tattoo, and make the tattoo more likely to need a touch up.
If you want, I can use Bactine during the tattooing process
Bactine is an antibacterial and antiseptic spray that contains a mild numbing agent. It only works on broken skin, and so I spray it over the skin after having done the outline of the tattoo and let it sit for five minutes before continuing. I find it makes the rest of the tattoo more comfortable for people, and contains much less of a risk of skin irritation than in traditional numbing creams. I will explain all this again and offer it to you at our appointment- it's entirely up to you whether or not I use it.
Moles and Scars
I do not tattoo over moles, as it's important to be able to see if your moles ever change. I am not super experienced with tattooing over scarring and may require a consultation before we book an appointment- just let me know on your enquiry form.
Things I love to tattoo!
Botanicals, script/lettering, medieval stuff & Judaica. But let me know if you have any wild ideas I may well be happy to make them happen!
Things I do not tattoo
I do not do nationalist tattoos, including zionist tattoos. I do not do Hebrew tattoos for Christians. I will do not do culturally appropriative tattoos, including tribal or neotribal tattoos. I am not a fineline specialist, and do not do realism- please check out my instagram to get an idea of my style. I currently do not do tattoos on peoples faces, the palms of hands or soles of feet.
Important
Please shower with antibacterial soap before your appointment
Moistureise the area to be tattooed for the week before your tattoo, but not on the day of the tattoo.
Eat two hours before your appointment, and bring sweets/sugary drinks with you.
Please do not drink a lot of alcohol the evening before your tattoo.
Please make sure you are dressed comfortably, and we can easily reach the area to be tattooed (shorts, crop tops)
Don't wear something too pale and/or precious- it would be a shame if purple stencil transfer stained your wedding dress!
Please do not go sunbathing or on a sunbed two days before your appointment. If you are sunburnt I cannot tattoo you.
I cannot tattoo you if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
Please do not organise an important event straight after your tattoo, sometimes appointments take longer (or shorter) than anticipated.
Hands and feet are a different texture skin to the rest of your body, this area will often require more than one touch up and never heals as clean as other tattoos, your first touch up will be free, any after this will be charged at my minimum price.
Colour only linework tattoos (where the lines are done in colour rather than black ink) may fade quicker than black ink tattoos. Your first touch up will be free, but any after this will be charged at my minimum price.
Every tattoo comes with a free touch up within a year of the origional work.
Pricing
This is a rough guide for how I price my tattoos. I will give you an exact quote before you book in with me. Please note I charge £20 extra on top of these prices for custom work.
Tiny tattoo (3-4cm)- £100-120
Small tattoo (5-8cm)-£140
Medium tattoo (10-12cm)-£200
Above this size I will probably book you in for a half or full day sitting. Please note I may need to book you in for a half day sitting if a medium tattoo is particularly detailed, full colour, or in a more time consuming spot e.g ribs.
Half day sitting-£300
Full day sitting- £500
The deposit amount that I require is 50% of your total tattoo price plus a £3 booking fee. The deposit is non-refundable within 7 days of your appointment. If you book within 7 days of the date you forfeit your cooling off period. If you late cancel or no show you will be required to pay another deposit for a new booking. If you are disabled and anticipate that I might need to be flexible due to your health, let me know on your enquiry form. If I am unable to make your appointment you will be refunded in full or your deposit will be transferred to a rescheduled date.
